A TV series created to
solve the toughest cold cases in Texas.
The Texas Rangers are the state’s primary criminal investigators.
Their cases range from bank fraud to threats against state officials, to murder. Their pursuit of justice is for each victim, their families, the criminals involved, and the public. But with 78 murder cases, the trail ran cold.
The Texas Department of Safety, the entity that oversees the Rangers, asked GCF to create a concept to spread the word and help get information.
The series title, Lone, serves as a testament to each individual who lost their lives, the individual men and women working together to solve their cases, and the great state of Texas.
Unlike other TV shows of this genre that have aired in the past, Lone is meant to be very intentional in its non-sensational approach. The stories are real and compelling portraits of each case, bringing the “who” in the case forward, to inspire discovery of the what, when, where, why, and how. The victims deserve a deeper connection with the viewers who may help bring their case to a close, in a way that cuts through the barrage of negative day-to-day news.
Trailer one features A first-person narrative from the victim
The goal was to develop each victim’s personal history and story as deeply as possible and establish the men and women of the Texas Rangers as the trusted leads of each case. This is their jurisdiction for a reason. And with the expertise of this storied agency, we want the motives and personalities of the Texas Rangers to shine, to show what drives them to do what they do, and why the public would want to help them. And, perhaps most importantly, we wanted to illustrate why the Texas Rangers will always be the right people for the job.
Trailer TWO IS dedicated TO HIGHLIGHTing THE VOLUME OF CASES AND PEOPLE INVOLVED
